Glow Around the World

Edmonton is typically cold during the Christmas season so what better way to enjoy a display of million lights than indoors at the Expo Centre. Glow Around the World features light gardens, a vendor market, visits with Santa, indoor playground, a licensed bar with seasonal beverages and live music.

Edmonton Christmas Market

New to Edmonton is the Edmonton Christmas Market located in the heart of downtown at ATB Place. Here you will find a great opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts, listen to live entertainment, see light installations, experience a winter carnival and a family-friendly beverage garden as well as indoor and outdoor market huts. You may even catch a glimpse of Santa! Admission will be charged upon entry.

Zoominescence - Festival of Lights

If getting outside and embracing the cold temperatures is more your speed then Zoominescence at the Valley Zoo might be for you. This is another Festival of Lights and features artistic light installations set among the fascinating backdrop of the zoo. Besides the light installations there is a skating rink, a maze, fire dancers, ice, light exhibits and 11 artist installations. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.

Candy Cane Lane

One of the more long standing Christmas traditions in Edmonton is visiting Candy Cane Lane. For many years families drive or walk through the area to enjoy the beautiful lights and creative displays setup by the residents of this west end neighborhood.

To really get into the festive spirit, sleigh rides are available and can be purchased ahead of time. Bundle up and enjoy the ride!

There is no cost to this but a donation for the food bank is appreciated.
